We are a group of brazilian and american christians that worship together on sundays and have a Bible study on monday nights. We are a part of the 1st Baptist church of Marilia, Brazil.

Re-introduce Christ

Just found this video of Blair Wingo from P4CM (Passion for Christ Movement). She uses poetry to declare the message of the cross and holy living. She is a real blessing and challenges us all to have a real relationship with Jesus Christ.
We saw this video during last Impact Worship service and also at the Bible study. I am sure everyone was impacted with this strong message.

The Light of Darkness

We watched this video last sunday. I believe we can get many lessons from it, so please watch again and leave your comment on how it impacted you or can impact others.
One thing that stands out for me is how we need to be willing to help others. We need to understand the danger they are in and reach out to them. The question is: how willing are we to help and do we feel the desperation of the danger and the need to warn others?

Movie - The Board

This movie shows us the internal fight within our mind as we face different decisions of life. I hope you all got the message of the movie and that it will help you see that Jesus Christ needs to be the chairman of the board of directors in our life. The next time you need to make a decision remember that the "mind" will try to rationalize; the "conscience" will try to decide between right and wrong; the "emotions" will try to feel; the memory will try to recall any past connections; the "will" will be moved by desire; and the "heart" will try to control all decisions, but the Bible says that our heart is deceived and we must let Jesus take over as Lord. Well, let us know what you thought of the movie and what message impacted you.

Last sunday we watched the movie "Dialtone". Would love to hear your comments about this movie and message. I don't know about you but this movie made me really stop and think about what message would I give if I knew it was the last time I would have a chance to talk to them.

Hello everyone,

So how are you all doing with this cold weather?? Many people think I am used to this cold but I lived many years in the desert area of California and it was usually hot. Oh well, we can be glad that the cold here isn't for so many days.

We finished our study about prayer this last sunday and we have seen how prayer is our relationship with God and this week I was reading the passage in Ephesians 4:29-32 and it talks about our relationship with one another.

"Don't say anything that would hurt another person. Instead, speak only what is good so that you can give help wherever it is needed. That way, what you say will help those who hear you. Don't give God's Holy Spirit any reason to be upset with you. He has put his seal on you for the day you will be set free from the world of sin. Get rid of your bitterness, hot tempers, anger, loud quarreling, cursing, and hatred. Be kind to each other, sympathetic, forgiving each other as God has forgiven you through Christ."

Jesus said the two commandments that define our lives are our relationship with God and relationship with one another. We really show our love for God when we love, serve and help one another, and as the passage above says "doing as God has". God is our reference. That's why our relationship with Him is so important, so that we can have His character, mercy, compassion and forgiveness. We are to edify each other, build each other up. So this week let us try to reflect God in our lives by reaching out to others with good words, words of blessing instead of criticism.
